Group Manager : Facilities

One of the well known organization in the Gauteng are has an oportunity for a GROUP MANAGER : Facilities.  The candidate must be able to develop and implement facilities management and related programmes that are in line with best practice so as to
ensure that the organization’s physical assets are maintained effectively.

 

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Overall governance,direction setting, operational structures, processes and general
management of the division

Management of all resources i.e. financial and human within area of control

• Management of the business unit

• Management and maintenance of the buildings and related services

Ensure that all facilities services provided are maintained appropriately e.g. garden, security, cleaning, hygiene etc.

• To ensure that all items in Stores are maintained and managed
• To ensure that all assets within the SABS are maintained and managed appropriately
• Management of all facilities related initiatives including change management where necessary
• Management of all risk processes on behalf of the organization
• Communication and control of all risk

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

B Degree / Diploma in a related discipline
• A management related qualification or studying towards
• 8 years related experience in a facilities management or a related field with property management and OHS experience (5 of which should be in a management position, at least 2 in middle management).

Proven track record and ability to execute and formulate strategy for facilities, property  management and Occupational Health and Safety

Management of the business unit

• Development of business plans in line with the business unit goals and objectives
• Recognises areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation.
• Manage the operating Model within sphere of control and ensure the continuous improvement thereof so as to
ensure business improvement
• Ensure that the business unit objectives are met through effective performance management and
measurement
• Develop and manage financial planning, forecasting and a budget that will be used to initiate, drive and
implement all communications, marketing, branding and public relations’ initiatives in line with the business
strategy
• Prepare key performance areas for facilities, i.e. service levels, facilities management etc. in order to obtain high service levels from stakeholders and service providers and provide parameters to measure them against

Management and maintenance of the buildings and related services

• Implement and maintain site master plans for all organization’s properties
• Ensuring that all repairs to facilities are completed within the stipulated SLA
• Investigating the availability and suitability of options for new premises as and when required
• Planning for future development in line with the business strategy

Ensure that all facilities services provided are maintained appropriately e.g. garden, security, cleaning, hygiene etc.
• Calculating and comparing costs for services so as to achieve maximum value for money
• Directing and planning all essential services so as to ensure that the buildings and all facilities are maintained
appropriately
• Monitoring and control of all service providers who provide essential services within ambit of control so as to
ensure that all Service Level Agreements are met
• Preventative maintenance plans developed and maintained

To ensure that all items in Stores are maintained and managed

• Monitoring and maintenance of the asset register for the organization
• Ensuring that optimal stores levels are maintained
• Implementation and management of the quality management system
• Ensure that stores items and the stores system is maintained and managed
• Management of all contracts as is related to Stores
