To supervise, control and coordinate the work of maintenance staff engaged in renovation, refurbishing, repairs and maintenance of the resortâ€™s structures, buildings and amenities.
Duties and responsibilities
â€¢ Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations to Lodge Manager
â€¢ Monitors contractors to achieve peak productivity and performance
â€¢ Ensures that minor repairs are carried out promptly and effectively.
â€¢ Plan and schedule routine maintenance tasks.
â€¢ Budget and allocate resources to accomplish desired and planned projects
â€¢ Under instruction and scrutiny of Lodge manager perform and supervise the work necessary to complete the refurbishment of chalets, boardwalks and other amenities.
â€¢ Ensure the efficient use of resources used in the project.
â€¢ Responsible for the requisition of materials required to perform tasks and projects from the General Manager.
â€¢ Ensures that tools and equipment are safe and secure, and allocates and controls the use of tools and other resources.
â€¢ Informs General Manager when inventory is required or equipment needs to be replaced.
â€¢ Supervise, delegate and allocate personnel as required to perform tasks and conduct repairs and scheduled maintenance.
â€¢ Ensure that staff performs tasks as instructed, in order to achieve the desired results.
â€¢ Attends to staff grievances and complaints, motivates and directs subordinates to accomplish objectives.
â€¢ Any other reasonable requests as made by the General Manager
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
â€¢ Grade 12
â€¢ 3-5 years relevant maintenance experience
â€¢ 1-2 yearsâ€™ experience coordinating independent projects or tasks
â€¢ 5 years in building/ trade environment
â€¢ Hand and Power tools basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and Brick laying.
â€¢ Public Safety and Security â€” Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
â€¢ Time Management â€” managing one’s own time and the time of others.
â€¢ Problem Sensitivity â€” The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

â€¢ Weekend, Sunday and public holiday shifts
